What you get

  • 1 × 515W TOPCon N-type panel (bifacial, glass-glass)
  • 1 × APsystems EZ1-M 800W microinverter
  • Adjustable hybrid mounting stand, for a wall or the ground
  • 4m AC connection cable

Concrete blocks or other ballast aren't in the box.

Where it goes

Use it on level ground in the sun, about 2.0m by 1.2m.

On the ground, the stand is held down with ballast, such as concrete blocks. The right amount for this stand depends on your spot and the wind there. Ask us and we'll get the maker's figure for you before you set up.

The stand can also go on a house wall, a flat roof or somewhere raised. That needs a professional assessment first. We don't offer one, so the ground is the simple choice. Never on a balcony, and never on a wall you share with a neighbour.

Before you order

Can you tick all of these? If not, ask us first.

  • A sunny spot about 2.0m by 1.2m, on level ground.
  • A weatherproof outdoor socket within reach of the 4m cable. No extension leads or adaptors.
  • Modern RCD protection in your fuse box. Not sure? An electrician can check it, or fit the outdoor socket.
  • Renting, or leasehold? Get written permission from your landlord or freeholder first.
  • Tell your home insurer you've got it.
  • Register it free at myplugin.solar before you first switch it on.
  • One kit per home. Never use it with a home battery.
  • Want it on a wall, a flat roof or somewhere raised? That needs a professional assessment first.

Questions about the Compact 515W hybrid kit

How is it different from the Small kit?

It has a slightly bigger panel (515W) on an adjustable stand. The Small kit has a fixed ground stand and needs a little less room.

Can I fix it to my wall myself?

No. A wall, flat roof or raised spot needs a professional assessment first. We don't offer one.

Do I need to register it?

Yes. It's free at myplugin.solar and takes a few minutes. Do it before you first switch on.

Can I have two kits?

No. The rules allow one plug-in kit per home.
