What you get

  • 2 × 630W TOPCon N-type panels (bifacial, glass-glass)
  • 1 × APsystems EZ1-M 800W microinverter
  • Hybrid aluminium mounting frame with ballast brackets, for a wall or the ground
  • 4m AC cable

Concrete blocks or other ballast aren't in the box.

Where it goes

Give it a long, open run of lawn or patio, about 5.0m by 1.2m, in full sun. It's easiest on the ground.

On the ground, the stand is held down with ballast, such as concrete blocks. The right amount for this stand depends on your spot and the wind there. Ask us and we'll get the maker's figure for you before you set up.

The stand can also go on a house wall, a flat roof or somewhere raised. That needs a professional assessment first. We don't offer one, so the ground is the simple choice. Never on a balcony, and never on a wall you share with a neighbour.

Have your electrics checked first

This kit has more than 960W of panels. The government's product rules say to think about a professional check of your home's electrics above that. So have one done before you plug it in.

An electrician can do this, and fit a weatherproof outdoor socket at the same visit if you need one.

Before you order

Can you tick all of these? If not, ask us first.

  • A sunny spot about 5.0m by 1.2m, on level ground.
  • A weatherproof outdoor socket within reach of the 4m cable. No extension leads or adaptors.
  • Modern RCD protection in your fuse box. Not sure? An electrician can check it, or fit the outdoor socket.
  • Renting, or leasehold? Get written permission from your landlord or freeholder first.
  • Tell your home insurer you've got it.
  • Register it free at myplugin.solar before you first switch it on.
  • One kit per home. Never use it with a home battery.
  • Want it on a wall, a flat roof or somewhere raised? That needs a professional assessment first.
  • More than 960W of panels: have a professional check your electrics first.

Questions about the Large kit

Why get my electrics checked?

It has more than 960W of panels. The government's product rules say to think about a professional check above that, so we suggest one before you plug in.

How do we move a 96kg box?

With at least two people. Each panel is 2.4m long and weighs 34kg. Clear a path to your spot before it comes.

What holds it down on the lawn?

Ballast, such as concrete blocks. The amount depends on your spot and the wind. Ask us and we'll get the maker's figure for you before you set up.

Does it still only send 800W into my home?

Yes. The microinverter caps it at 799VA. The big panels help it reach that limit for more of the day, from early morning to evening.

Do I need to register it?

Yes. It's free at myplugin.solar and takes a few minutes. Do it before you first switch on.
